How to get Saudi Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from Saudi Arabia
Saudi Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is a certificate for an individual issued by the police in specific affairs. The certification of good conduct from the police is valid for 12 months, which states your name, address, and date of birth and includes information about whether or not you have a criminal record in respect of their jurisdiction.
Saudi Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) issued by the Ministry of Interior/ Public Security general directorate of criminal evidence. However, you can process your application through three police stations in Saudi Arabia: Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam.
There are three types and three ways to apply for police clearance certificates (PCC) from the Saudi police. Each of these has a different purpose and procedure. You need to understand these and choose the right one to avoid delays and lengthy processes for your career growth.
Online Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
Saudi police accept online police clearance applications that are certain or likely to happen for a fast and smooth process of getting an employee police verification for an employer. So, an employer can request a Criminal Record Certificate on Saudi’s national cyber security centre portal Amen.
However, This service enables any agency in Saudi (An employer in KSA) to request and print your police certificate. But the Ministry of Interior warns that police certificates obtained in-person (authorised person’s) application can only attest to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Interior suggests using the in-person police certificate application is for international use. So, only police certificates obtained by in-person (authorised person’s) application can have the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attestation. Besides, you must follow the below terms of the agreement.
Terms for Saudi’s Online Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
- You must have an active account in the official portal for citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia, Absher, to access various government services.
- You and your employer must be in Saudi to access the Absher and Amen portals.
- Through your Absher account, you must approve the request for a police certificate.
- To complete the police certificate application, You must have your fingerprints taken by the Ministry of Interior.
In-person application for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
When applying for a police clearance certificate (PCC) during your stay in Saudi, you must apply through the Saudi police, which will be issued by the police in specific affairs. If you are still working in Saudi and have no plan to leave the country, applying for a PCC is unnecessary. However, many countries, including the GCC, are now mandating PCC for an employment visa.
The procedures for getting a Saudi PCC in-person application are straightforward in my experience. The police department can quickly issue a Police clearance certificate (PCC) because a person is eligible to get a character certificate from the police (PCC) in the country they last worked for five years. So, get your Police clearance certificate (PCC) from Saudi before the final exit.
Saudi Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) Fees and Process
We can categorise the process into four stages. However, each step has small tasks. It would help if you considered these small assignments to get the logic behind the total fees for the Saudi police clearance (PCC) service agency charging you.
1) The No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Indian Embassy.
To apply for the NOC, the “Application in the Miscellaneous Services Form (Form 2.pdf)” form you can download from the Indian embassy on the Saudi website, which I have included for your convenience on the link above. You can apply through the VFS Globel along with the application and documents in Saudi Arabia.
Once you have applied for NOC, it will take 7-10 days to receive, and you should pay the fee of 94 for the endorsement letter for the Saudi Police Clearance Certificate (Saudi PCC). Besides, a fee of 8.00 Saudi Riyal is levied on each service to contribute to the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) and M/s VFS Global charges a processing fee of 15.00 Saudi Riyal.
Keep in mind that all fees are to be paid in Saudi Riyals in Cash at the VFS Counter along with the application. Please note that fees are not refundable even if the application is withdrawn or the service is refused for any reason.
Documents for obtaining a Saudi Police Clearance Certificate (Saudi PCC)
- You should use the miscellaneous services form (Form 2.pdf) for the application.
- Copy of Passport front, back and VISA pages.
- Copy of valid Iqama
- A recent passport-size photograph should be affixed to the form
2) Translate Indian Embassy Issued English NOC to Arabic
Saudi Government authorities are working in Arabic, so you should translate your English No Objection Certificate (NOC ) into Arabic.
The agency will vary the cost; more or less, it would be 35 – 50 Saudi riyals. After translating your NOC, you should cross-check the Passport and Iqama numbers mentioned in Arabic to match with your original NOC issued by the Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia.
3) Saudi Ministry Of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Attestation
For MOFA attestation, you can go directly and, most of the time, complete the process in one day. Original Arabic translation of NOC issued by the Indian embassy in Saudi and a copy of Iqama should be submitted for Saudi Ministry Of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attestation. The fee should be 30 Saudi riyals.
4) Submitting the documents to the Saudi Police to get the PCC
Saudi Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) will be issued through three police stations in Saudi Arabia: Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam. They usually will take four days to give the Saudi PCC. You should submit the original MOFA-attested NOC issued by the Indian embassy in Saudi, a copy of Iqama, and an original Arabic translation to one of the police stations mentioned above.
